With this new spot, Vodafone suggests that good things last forever by saying that their phone offers unlimited use. Well... isn't that a bit of a disconnect? The spot shows a couple from first kiss to last kiss and every one between... sure, thats a good thing lasting forever. But how does that equate to being able to use your phone unlimitedly? That aside though, the spot is really well put together. The first age switch is the best one. The girl barely moves off screen and when she comes back she is a couple years older. Its so fluid you barely notice it till she's back.
Pretty great advertising piece from CHI out of the UK. Whenever I see a scene on what should be a busy street I'm reminded of Vanilla Sky – that multi-million dollar buy out of Times Square where Tom Cruise goes running through the streets wondering where the hell everyone is. This commercial, of course, isn't filmed on as well-traveled a street as Times Square – but it had to of cost a ton regardless... I guess when you're a giant like Samsung you can afford giant sized budgets.
Can't say I've paid too much attention to Samsonite in the past so I don't know if their tag line is old or new... but its great. By you side... brilliant. And so is this spot. There isn't much to it, just that its suggesting you can go anywhere and do anything with this luggage. Nevertheless, its pretty captivating – and thats really all I want from a commercial anyway... to be captivated.
