    "El Silencio" tequila – I've not yet completely settled on whether I should like this commercial or think its way too strange an ending. Either way, it caught my attention enough to post it and add this comment. And, isn't that what advertising online is about anyway? Shouldn't a commercial be deemed a success if it's worth talked about? Maybe. Until will figure that out let's just decide to think this commercial is a bit odd, but likable.

    Little Debbie has gotten a little creative with their marketing of late. This is the latest piece... they sent a bobble head doll to nearly outer space. Pretty great. Seems like some thinking had to go into how to keep the head from popping off mid flight.

  • Construction Workers When They're Hungry

    Really awesome. Definitely a different take on the You're Not You When You're Hungry campaign... but maybe I am confused. Are they saying that the construction workers are hungry and are now nice to women? If that were true that would mean eating a snickers would make them mean to women again. Or are they saying that construction workers are always hungry and now that they've eaten a snickers they can be nice to women instead of their normal selves. Either way, pretty great stunt – I'm sure a lot of women were taken back by the nice comments.

  • Mystique Eats Like a Man

    This is a pretty clever idea. I like how they are promoting an upcoming movie but not just showing a clip from it and then showing their burger. This actually forces the character to interact with the product which is a bit of fresh air in an otherwise boring genre of commercials.

    Granted it isn't actually Jennifer Lawrence, but I would still assume that Marvel had something to do with Mystique being in this commercial.

    Jonathan Hoefler or Tobias Frere-Jones explain their company and the need for typefaces. I think, ultimately, typefaces are certainly one of, if not the most pure design. They are an explicitly clear way of communicating an idea and their style is a major part of that communication.
