Remember the Fax Machine?

Well, guess where it's not only alive and well, but a popular, and often preferred, form of communication? In the most technologically advanced country in the world. Japan adores this antiquated piece of machinery for multiple reasons:

1. The art form of handwriting is still practiced and very much relevant to thorough communication. Shockingly, the majority of resumes are still handwritten, allowing the employer to analyze the handwriting and get a better sense of the candidate.

2. Japan's obsessed with hard copies, leaving no excuse for an overlooked email or voicemail.

3. In addition, more than a fifth of the population is over 65. And apparently, the fax machine is the preferred method of AARP card holders.
