To Helveticaize or Not to Helveticaize?

University of the Arts London contains some of the world's best design, media, art and fashion colleges. Last week, their logo went from a literal turn on an axis to flatter than flat.

Personally, this is a sad demolition of interesting and creative design. Are there any pro-Helvetica readers out there? What do you think?
